Doing this will reap rich dividends in your life
Warren Buffet, known as the Oracle of Omaha, is the most popular stock market investor in the world.
During an interview, he was asked about the best investment one can make. Buffet’s answer didn’t have anything to do with investing in the capital markets. Instead, here’s what he said,
"Ultimately, there's one investment that supersedes all others: Invest in yourself. Nobody can take away what you’ve got in yourself, and everybody has potential they haven’t used yet."
(By investing in yourself) You'll have a more rewarding life not only in terms of how much money you make, but how much fun you have out of life; you'll make more friends the more interesting person you are. So go to it, invest in yourself."
When Warren Buffet was young, he was terrified of speaking in public and it would make him physically ill, so much so that it would make him throw up.
Because of his fear of public speaking, he purposely selected college courses that never required him to speak to the entire class. If at all he got himself in such a situation he could hardly even say his own name.
He decided to do something about his fear by signing up for a $100 Dale Carnegie Public speaking course.
He said attending the course changed his life and credited it to having the biggest impact in terms of his subsequent success. “If I hadn’t had done that, my whole life would have been different”.
So, I’d like to ask you a question.
What are some things you can do that would be a great way to invest in yourself?
Perhaps you could spend more time travelling, reading, practising yoga and meditation, going for daily walks, journaling, learning a new skill/language or like Warren Buffet did, join a new course.
I invite you to slow down, ponder this question and start taking action on the answers that arise.
